UCSF Mission Bay Feature Wall Donor Signage

UCSF Mission Bay Block 33 - Feature Wall Donor Signage

As an Architectural Design Intern at SmithGroup San Francisco (2017), I was tasked to come up with a preliminary design for a feature wall donor signage at UCSF Mission Bay Block 33. It will be located at a prime location in the lobby where it will feature the names of generous donors that are able to make the project possible.

Disclaimer: Names in the renderings are all fictional and non-related to the project. It is only meant to represent size and color.
INSPIRATION

I was mainly inspired by the below image of UCSF's branding, in which it consists of floating squares and rectangles in various sizes and colored with signature UCSF branding colors.

I analyzed how their branding was used in their website, and noticed that the same principles above (floating squares and rectangles in various sizes) was similarly used in the graphic below. Hence it was only natural that I applied the same principles again for this feature wall design.
I designed a triangular prismatic system that is modular to the pre-designed, paneled, yellow wall for context. Considering that the most likely location of this feature wall is to be next to a hallway where a lot of directional movement will happen, I designed this such that the triangle apexes are all slanted towards one direction to convey an exciting and different experience between walking from right to left and walking from left to right.
